App List

What is it?

DragOnce App provides different environments for different purposes which included but are not limited to Developing Environment, UAT and Production Environment (See more: Environment). Under each environment, you will have an App List which contains at least the “Core Data” App ready for you to create shared master data.

Application Settings

After you have created an App, you can still change its settings whenever you want. You

can open Application Settings by opening the App List and clicking App Settings Logo  on the row of an App.

Application Name and Description

You can configure the Application Name and Description. Application Name is mandatory and will be shown on the app list in Design Time. It does not have to be the same as the App title in the App web header. App description is used as internal remarks.

Layout&Format

Format settings for all widgets in the App. You can click the Set Up Button to configure the settings.

Renaming Dictionary

Rename the default names of system built-in action buttons on some widgets. Workflow edge action buttons are not included. Other than workflow edge action buttons, the system has some built-in default action buttons in widgets such as tables and forms. The button names can be customized in App.

Button Styles

Used to choose the Design Time button style.

Language

Choose the Language of the app. It is defaulted to choose “inherit” to match the system language.

Choose Application Icon

Choose the App icon displayed on the Launch Board.

Assign Design Time User Role

A user’s environment Design Time user role gives him/her a specific level of permission to activities in App Management in an environment. On top of that, you can include additional users to have App Design Time user roles for managing a specific App. Assign the role to additional users in App Settings by choosing them in the user picker. 

Be aware that the App owner is defaulted to be assigned to all the App Design Time user roles once the App is created. Users having environment Design Time user roles are not shown here. But you can check it at Administration Panel > Subscriber Settings > Environments. Know More: Subscriber.

Usage

Creating a new app

To create a new app (if you are one of the eligible App Designers on DragOnce platform), you should be able to see and click this “Add” button. 

After clicking it, you can continue the general settings and proceed. 

Opening an existing app

Open in Design Time

Simply click on the App Name and you will be able to open the Page List of your App.

Open in Run Time

You can click the “Eye” button on the app that you are targeting. Then, open its runtime preview in your current environment. Please be noted that you will only see your pinned pages that are configured in the Web Header setting. 

If you have NOT pinned any pages, you will see a blank page in your runtime like the one below.

If you are accessing some apps that you are not authorised to, you will see the screen as below.
